What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a collision that killed a pedestrian at Hudson Bend Rd and La Hacienda Dr in Austin, TX on September 16th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 11:53 p.m. According to investigators, a Honda motorcycle operated by a 37-year-old Austin man was headed southbound on Hudson Bend Rd, allegedly without active forward or rear lighting as a second vehicle was headed northbound. Officers say the woman operating the second vehicle alleged that pedestrians were in the roadway, causing the vehicle to maneuver around them into the center of the roadway. The motorcycle struck the second vehicle, ejecting the man from the vehicle into a shoulder. The man, who officers allege may have been under the influence of alcohol, died in the crash.
