Oscar Merchan Contreras Killed in Accident at I-20 in Duncanville, TX

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person involved at I-20 in Duncanville, TX on February 7th, 2024. Police say the incident happened at the scene of an accident around 2 p.m. Reports indicate a tow truck as in a right shoulder working to get a vehicle ready to be towed as an approaching FedEx truck allegedly attempting to pass nearby vehicles. In the process, reports say the truck struck two tow truck operators and a vehicle, pinning the tow truck operators under a vehicle. One of the tow truck operators was identified as 44-year-old  Oscar Merchan Contreras., who died at the scene. The other was not yet publicly identified and reports say they were taken to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries. There were no other reported injuries and authorities did not have any additional information available.
