What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed three people at State Hwy 71 in Bastrop County, TX on July 15th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 9:01 p.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Tundra operated by a 22-year-old woman was allegedly headed westbound in eastbound lanes before colliding with a Chevrolet Silverado operated by 34-year-old Oscar Regalado. The impact caused the vehicles to spin, the Toyota into a median and the Chevrolet into a Honda Pilot operated by 40-year-old Arthur Alonso. The impact from the collisions caused the Silverado to catch fire, trapping Regalado and two other occupants in the vehicle. One of the two occupants was identified as 31-year-old Denia Landaverde. The other was a three year old child. Police conformed all three were killed in the crash. Officers say Alonso and his three passengers were all serious injured. One was identified as 37-year-old Natalie Alonso. Additional information was not immediately available.
