What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US Hwy 59 in Nacogdoches County, TX on July 13th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 12:34 p.m. According to investigators, a tanker truck collided with a Hyundai Sonata which was performing a u-turn. It has been alleged the Hyundai pulled into the path of the truck prior to the collision, which left the driver of the Hyundai with fatal injuries at the scene. The driver was identified as 22-year-old Paola Rojas Rondon. Two passengers, identified as 24-year-old Carlos Gulloso-Mendez and 26-year-old Alejandro Bolano Casanova, were hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. The driver of the tanker truck, identified as 57-year-old Terry Farris, and a passenger, 43-year-old John Mottet, were both also hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
