What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured at least two people at US 80 in Fruitvale, TX on June 8th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 10:23 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram 1500 was eastbound on US 80 while an Audi A5 headed westbound. Reports claim the Dodge attempted to turned left at VZXR 1918, traveling into the path of the approaching Audi. The vehicles collided, the impact leaving a 20-year-old passenger in the Audi seriously injured. The driver had less serious injuries, reports say. Reports also say the driver of the Dodge, identified 40-year-old Patricia McCune, was seriously injured. Also seriously injured were 29-year-old passenger, Allen Wheeler, and a 13-year-old passenger. Sources indicate a Driving While Intoxicated charge was recommended and/or issued against the operator of the Audi.
