What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at Holmes Rd and Cullen Blvd in Houston, TX on March 5th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 9 p.m. Investigators believe a Mini Cooper operated by 69-year-old Patricia Mims was headed westbound on Holmes Rd at an alleged high rate of speed when it veered from the road into a tree. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn and ejected Mims from the vehicle who suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Investigators allege suspicion that alcohol was involved in the crash.
