What Happened

Area authorities arrested. driver in connection with a crash that killed a person at US 62 in Gaines County, TX on October 9th, 2022. Police say the incident happened when a northbound vehicle operated by 21-year-old Brian Armendariz crossed into a southbound lane. The vehicle collided with a southbound vehicle operated by 79-year-old Patricia Wingo. Wingo was taken to an area hospital with injuries she later died from. Armendariz was not injured and arrested on an intoxication manslaughter charge.
