What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials identified the person killed in a crash at Rex Ivey Rd and Terlingua Spring Rd in Terlingua, TX on January 9th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 5:40 p.m. A Chevrolet Tahoe operated by 65-year-old Paul Duffy is said to have been headed westbound on Rex Ivey Rd when it veered from the road for unknown reasons. While attempting to correct back onto the road, the vehicle lost control and went into a skid before overturning into a culvert. Duffy was ejected from the vehicle in the crash and suffered fatal injuries. Responding officers allege an alcoholic container was found inside the vehicle at the scene.
