What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a collision that killed a man at US 67 in Midlothian, TX on December 29th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 7:05 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by an unnamed 32-year-old Waxahachie woman had previously been traveling northbound on 67 before pulling over to a shoulder. After exiting the truck checking the brakes on the vehicle, the driver returned to the vehicle and proceeded to pull back onto the road. The vehicle had not yet reached full highway speeds and was traveling slowly as a Chevrolet Silverado approached. The Silverado collided with the rear of the truck and its driver, identified as 61-year-old Paul Harold Lobb Jr, was killed. The occupants of the tractor-trailer were uninjured and authorities were not prepared to released additional information.
