What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a teen at Bolton Rd in Hood County, TX on July 10th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 1:19 a.m. An ATV occupied by 18-year-old Payton Herman reportedly veered into a barrow ditch for unknown reasons before it overturned and crashed into a fence. Herman was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. The driver of the ATV, 21-year-old Kayleb Erwin and Herman's sister, 21-year-old Caitlin Herman, were also hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
