Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-2 and Victoria Rd in Hidalgo County, TX on July 4th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 12:12 a.m. According to investigators, a Nissan Armada was westbound on I-2 before leaving the roadway for unclear reasons. The vehicle is said to have exited the main lanes and entered the frontage road. There, the vehicle collided with both a cable box and light pole. The impact is believed to have caused the vehicle to overturn, ejecting 45-year0old driver, Pedro Garcia, from the vehicle. Reports say Garcia was hospitalized with injuries he later died from.
