What Happened

Bryan Police identified one of the pedestrians hurt in a collision at South Texas Ave in Bryan, TX on October 10th, 2021. They say it happened around 2 a.m. and involved a vehicle colliding with two pedestrians. Investigators say that responding officers allegedly found open containers of alcohol in the vehicle at the scene. One of the pedestrians, 20-year-old Pedro Lopez Jr, suffered fatal injuries. A second pedestrian was hospitalized in critical condition. The driver of the car, 42-year-old Jay Griffin III, was arrested and charged with two counts of intoxication assault.
