Police say the incident happened around 7:34 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford Expedition operated by a driver who was not identified was headed northbound on FM 86, approaching the intersection with FM 20. Police allege the vehicle failed to control is speed and collided with the rear of a Jeep Gladiator operated by 65-year-old Peggy Hines. The impact left Hines with suspected non-life-threatening injuries and a passenger in the Ford seriously injured. Police also allege the driver of the Ford fled the scene into the nearby woods.
