What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person involved at I-20 in Harrison County, TX on June 29th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 12:28 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer was southbound on US Hwy 59 before turning left onto an exit ramp, allegedly mistaking it for an entrance ramp. While traveling on the exit ramp, the truck is said to have collided with an approaching Nissan Pathfinder. Reports indicate a 45-year-old passenger in the Nissan, identified as Peter Lentini, was fatally injured. The driver of the Nissan, identified as 37-year-old Chessa Lentini, was seriously injured, reports say. The truck operator and child occupants of the Nissan were allegedly uninjured. Sources indicate a Drive Wrong Way-One Way Road charge was issued agains the operator of the tractor-trailer. Additional information was not available.
