Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a pedestrian at US 79 in Marquez, TX on July 25th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 9:41 p.m. Police say that 60-year-old Phillip Ponce Rangel was on-foot in a northbound lane and failed to yield to traffic. Rangel was struck by a tractor-trailer and suffered serious injuries. Investigators allege that Rangel had been drinking. The truck driver was not injured.
