Authorities are investigating a collision that killed a woman at I-10 in Kendall County, TX on April 29th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 7:15 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer headed eastbound was approaching the site of a previous crash involving other vehicles, which were in a shoulder lane. Reports indicate the truck began merging onto a center median while attempting to avoid debris from the crash. There, police say, the truck struck a cable barrier an individual who stopped to aid those involved in the collision. The pedestrian, a 46-year-old Phoenix woman who was not publicly identified, was fatally injured. Reports indicate the truck involved was placed out of service due to a possible mechanical issue regarding its brakes that existed prior to the collision. Additional information was not available.
