Police are investigating a crash that killed a driver at US 271 in Mount Pleasant, TX on October 26th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 3:01 a.m. According to investigators, a Kia Sportage headed southbound is alleged to have veered from the road, due to driver fatigue, before colliding with a light fixture. Reports say the vehicle overturned, the impact leaving 23-year-old driver, Kaige Watkins, fatally injured. 23-year-old passenger, Precious Maybee, was hospitalized with possible, unconfirmed injuries.
