What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a person at State Hwy 6 in Sugar Land, TX on October 1st, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:59 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-150 operated by  38-year-old James Martinez allegedly ran a red light, colliding with a Lexus making a left turn with a green light. The impact caused the Ford to crash into a cable utility box and multiple airbags in the Lexus to deploy. A passenger in the Lexus, identified as 45-year-old Priya Kundu, suffered serious injuries. Officers recommended and/or issued charges for Driving While Intoxicated, Intoxication Assault and Failure to Identify.
