Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at  I-35 in Waco, TX on September 19th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 8:19 p.m. A Dodge Ram operated by 51-year-old Rafael Esquivel Perez was headed northbound on South I-35 when it veered from its lane and hit an exit barrier. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn and a front tire detached from the vehicle and struck another vehicle. No one in the second vehicle nor was Perez's passenger injured. Perez, who investigators allege may have been under the influence of alcohol, was seriously injured. Additional information was not available.
