What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man at State Hwy 14 in Navarro County, TX on November 16th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 12:25 a.m. According to investigators, a Volkswagen Passat headed southbound is alleged to have crossed into a northbound lane, colliding with  northbound Honda Odyssey. Authorities claim the operator of the wrong way vehicle may have fallen asleep at the wheel prior to the collision. Reports indicate 43-year-old Rafael Hernandez, was fatally injured. A passenger in the same vehicle, identified as  35-year-old Beatriz Elena Monterroza, was seriously injured, as was the other driver, who was not publicly identified.
