What Happened

Authorities are investigating a collision that injured a driver at FM 544 in Murphy, TX on October 24th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 9:01 p.m. According to investigators, a Nissan Altima headed westbound is alleged to have entered into a turn lane to travel onto Murphy Rd as a Tesla Model 3 headed eastbound on FM 544. Officials say as the Tesla proceeded through the intersection on a green light, it collided with the Nissan, which allegedly had a flashing yellow light. Officials say a 65-year-old woman in the Nissan was fatally injured while the driver was seriously injured. The driver of the Tesla, identified as 31-year-old Ramit Saini, had injuries believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
