Police say the incident happened around 1:02 a.m. According to investigators, a Hyundai Elantra operated by a 20-year-old Waco woman was stopped in a center lane of travel for uncles reasons. While stopped, the vehicle was struck by an approaching Volkswagen Passat operated by 37-year-old Ranier Banzuela Jr. Police say both drivers were hospitalized with serious injuries while a 30-year-old passenger in the Volkswagen was hospitalized with more serious injuries.
