What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at US 84 in McLennan County, TX on June 7th, 2021. Officials say the incident happened around 6:11 p.m. A Dodge Journey operated by 36-year-old Ray Salas was headed eastbound on US 84 when it attempted a u-turn into the path of a Buick Lacrosse operated by 30-year-old Jared Jones. After the two vehicles collided, the Journey crashed into a guardrail, causing Salas serious injuries. Jones was less seriously injured. Police allege that Salas showed multiple signs of intoxication at the scene and issued a Driving While Intoxicated charge as well as a citation for No Driver's License.
