What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at RM 2243 in Leander, TX on November 12th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around as a Ford Excursion headed westbound may have suffered from a mechanical issue that caused it to cross a center lane divider before colliding head-on with a Chevrolet Silverado headed eastbound. The impact caused the Silverado to veer from the road before overturning, leaving 51-year-old driver, Ray Shillito Jr, with fatal injuries at the scene.
