What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at State Hwy 46 in Boerne, TX on January 7th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 10:55 a.m. A Buick Verano operated by 60-year-old Rebeca Alba Cazares was stopped for a red light at Herff Ranch Blvd while a commercial truck operated by a 54-year-old San Antonio man was in a left turn lane. Investigators say as both vehicles moved forward, the commercial truck changed lanes when unsafe and collided with the Buick, the impact causing serious injuries to Cazares.  The San Antonio man was not injured and reports indicate the driver was issued a Change Lane When Unsafe charge.
