What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at US 69 in Nederland, TX on April 9th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 3:58 a.m. According to police, a Toyota Highlander operated by 31-year-old Rebecca Jimenez was headed northbound on US 69 when it veered from the road into a grassy area. It reportedly traveled through the grass and lost control, overturning several times and ejecting Jimenez from the vehicle. Jimenez suffered fatal injuries while a passenger, identified as 23-year-old Brooke Thomas, suffered serious injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
