What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at FM 563 and Number 9 Rd in Wallisville, TX on July 12th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 7:55 a.m. A dump truck operated by a 50-year-old Dayton man reportedly was traveling at an unsafe speed around a curve in the road when it began to veer from the road. It then attempted to correct back onto the road and overturned, landing on a Chevrolet Silverado towing a trailer. The driver of the Silverado, 35-year-old Rene Loera, suffered fatal injuries. A 230year-old passenger suffered serious injuries. The Dayton man was also killed in the crash. Additional information was not immediately available.
