What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a passenger at Davis Dr in Arlington, TX on May 21st, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:02 p.m. According to investigators, a Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by a 31-year-old male was headed northbound at an alleged high rate of speed before it lost control. It then struck a curb before veering from the road where it first overturned into a fence and electrical pole and ejected a passenger partially from the vehicle. The passenger, identified as 39-year-old Reymundo Arteta Ruiz, suffered fatal injuries. The driver was not injured and reports indicate he was charged with Intoxication Manslaughter.
