What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at 16th St and B Ave in Hondo, TX on October 23rd, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 12:06 a.m. A Chevrolet C10 is said to have been headed westbound on 16th St when it lost control for unknown reasons before colliding with a vehicle that was parked in front of a home. After impact, it then headed westbound and crashed into a tree. Responding officers say one occupant of the vehicle allegedly left the scene while another that remained claimed to be a passenger. They also say the following day, the person that left the scene claimed to be the passenger. One person, identified as 29-year-old Ricardo Gonzalez III, suffered serious injuries in the crash.
