Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at I-35W in Fort Worth, TX on July 3rd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 4:06 a.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Cruze operated by 45-year-old Ricardo Rodrigues Rivera collided with the rear of an unoccupied Ford Expedition that had reportedly run out of gas and was in lane of travel. Reports say Rivera, who was seriously injured, fled the scene after the collision before later being located by authorities. Reports indicate a Driving While Intoxicated charge and Accident Involving Damage to Vehicle charge were both issued.
