Texas Department of Public Safety officials have provided information on a crash that killed at least one person on State Highway 349 in Odessa, TX, on January 9, 2025. Officials say the incident happened around 6:30 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer traveling westbound on the icy roadway allegedly lost control and entered the eastbound lanes, reportedly while traveling at unsafe speeds. The truck struck a Chevrolet Silverado and a Dodge Ram 1500. The impact fatally injured the 57-year-old Chevrolet operator, Richard Allen Howell.
