Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person at FM 201 in Sabine County, TX on December 24th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 7:25 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Tahoe was westbound on FM 201, nearing US 96. Reports say the vehicle approached a T-shaped intersection that required the vehicle to perform either a left or right turn to continue traveling. For unconfirmed reasons, possibly driver distraction, reports say, the vehicle continued straight, crashing into a large tree. Sources indicate 54-year-old passenger, identified Richard Dominey, was killed in the crash. Both the 60-year-old Broaddus man operating the vehicle and a 38-year-old passenger had injuries believed to be non-life-threatening in nature. Additional information was not available.
