What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at State Hwy 121 in Coppell, TX on May 24th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 1:20 p.m. According to investigators, a Honda Accord operated by 27-year-old Aman Pirani was headed northbound on TX 121 while a Toyota Venza operated by 82-year-old Robert Malecheck was also northbound in a center lane. The Accord allegedly failed to control its speed and collided with the rear of the Toyota. The Accord continued forward into a retaining wall. A passenger in the Toyota, identified as 84-year-old Jean Malecheck, suffered minor injuries. Robert Malecheck suffered possible injuries while Pirani was seriously injured and charged with DWI.
