What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured two drivers at Synott Rd and Clarewood Dr in Houston, TX on April 22nd, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. According to investigators, a a pickup truck headed northbound at Synott Rd is alleged to have been traveling at a high rate of speed while attempting to pass another vehicle. Authorities say the vehicle collided with a Nissan Altima, the impact causing the vehicle to strike a nearby pole. The pickup truck is said to have also collided head-on with a Nissan Altima, leaving the driver of the Malibu, 47-year-old Robert Shelton, fatally injured at the scene. The pickup truck driver, identified as 42-year-old Kenneth Manning, was also fatally injured while the driver of the Nissan was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
