What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials have information on a crash that injured three people at Ferguson Rd in Mount Pleasant, TX on December 16th, 2021. Police say it happened around 8:44 a.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 58-year-old Owentown man was approaching the westbound intersection of Ferguson Rd at Lakewood when, according to investigators, it collided with the rear of a Chevrolet Avalanche stopped behind a GMC Yukon. The collision pushed the Avalanche into the Yukon, causing injuries to both drivers. The Avalanche driver, 66-year-old Robert Stewart, is said to have been seriously injured while both the the Yukon driver, 36-year-old Amanda Priefert and the Owentown man, suffered minor injuries. Reports indicate officers issued and/or recommended a charge of Failure to Control Speed.
