What Happened

Area authorities have identified the pedestrian killed in a crash at Palm Blvd in Brownsville, TX on June 13th, 2023. They say it happened around 6:14 a.m. and named 81-year-old Roberto Recio as the victim. According to investigators, Recio was crossing in a crosswalk at the intersection with Jefferson Street when he was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado turning left onto West Jefferson St. Recio was taken to an area hospital with injuries he later died from. Police say the driver remained at the scene and they do not currently suspect impairment played a factor in the crash.
