What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person involved at US 77 in Kingsville, TX on July 11th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 3:31 a.m. Investigators say a Nissan Versa operated by a 42-year-old woman who was not publicly identified was involved in a collision with a pair of bicyclists. Police say the cyclists were in a northbound shoulder before one may have lost control and fell into the path of the vehicle. Identified as 58-year-old Roberto Salinas Garza, police say the cyclist was struck by the Nissan and seriously injured. Following hospitalization, Garza later died from his injuries from the crash.
