What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at US 80 and FM 1799 in Wood County, TX on November 29th, 2021. Officials are saying the incident involved a southbound Nissan Altima allegedly failing to yield right of a way to a westbound Dodge Challenger at an intersection. The two vehicles collided and the driver of the Nissan, 53-year-old Rodney Godbey, was hospitalized with injuries he later died from, His passenger, 53-year-old John Stewart, was treated at the scene with minor injuries. The driver of the Dodge, 25-year-old Marcus Counts and his 30-year-old passenger, Jessica Otto, were hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
