What Happened

California Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed two people at Chestnut Ave and Annandale Ave in Fresno County, CA on January 29th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 7:45 a.m. Investigators say a pickup truck headed northbound on Chestnut Ave collided with a tractor-trailer under headed westbound on Annandale unclear circumstances. Sources indicate the area was covered in heavy fog and the big rig was turning left at Chestnut at the time. The driver of the pickup truck, identified as 50-year-old Rogelio Avila and 20-year-old passenger, Yessenia Avila, were both killed in the crash. Additional information was not available.
