What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at FM 580 in Lampasas County, TX on February 8th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:08 p.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Sequoia operated by 65-year-old Ronnie Orsak was headed eastbound on FM 580 when it reportedly exited to the right into a bar ditch. While attempting to correct back onto the road, the vehicle went into a skid, overturned and collided with rock pillars and metal gates. Responding officers allege open alcoholic beverages were found at the scene and say Orsak suffered serious injuries. Records show Failure to Drive in Single Lane, Ride, Not Secured by Safety Belt-Drive and Open Container in Motor Vehicle-Driver were recommended or issued.
