What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a man at Wireline Rd in Ector County, TX on October 1st, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 2 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer headed northbound on Wireline Rd was involved in a collision with a second tractor-trailer in an east side trailer. Officials say wire from the truck had somehow detached and was covering the northbound and southbound lanes nearby. Occupants of the stopped truck were reportedly in the process of retrieving the wiring as the northbound truck approached. Officials say this caused wire from the truck to entangle one of those occupants, identified as 40-year-old Ronny Jordan, as it continued to wrap. Reports indicate Jordan was hospitalized with serious injuries while the others involved were not injured. Additional information was not available.
