What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a collision that killed a person at West Loop 1604 and FM 143 in San Antonio, TX on January 13th, 2022. Police say it happened around 1:15 p.m. and involved an 18-wheeler dump truck and Lexus passenger vehicle. After approaching the intersection, the westbound Lexus is said to have pulled out towards FM 143 before being struck by the dump truck. The impact was such that the vehicle was pushed into a nearby light pole and the driver, 79-year-old Rosa Guajardo Vasquez, died at the scene.
