What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 77 in McLennan County, TX on May 28th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 8:24 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram operated by 39-year-old Clayton Scott Freeman was headed northbound on US 77 at a high rate of speed. Reports suggest the vehicle was allegedly attempting to strike other vehicles before it collided with a Ford F-150 operated by 54-year-old Rosalba Perez. Perez was seriously injured in the collision. Freeman was evaluated for possible injuries and reports indicate an Intoxication Assault charge was recommended and/or issued.
