What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at TX 85 in Dimmit County, TX on June 12th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 5:51 p.m. A Ford Explorer operated by a 20-year-old Carrizo Springs woman reportedly crossed into opposite direction traffic and collided head-on with a Volkswagen Tiguan operated by 37-year-old Rosemary Gomez. Gomez suffered serious injuries in the collision. The Carrizo Springs woman was less seriously injured. Police also suspect that the Carizzo Springs woman was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
