What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at US 87 in Wilson County, TX on July 10th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 11:45 a.m. According to investigators, a Lincoln Mark MKT headed northwest on US 87 allegedly failed to yield right of way from a stop sign before proceeding into the path of an approaching Toyota 4Runner. Reports say the vehicles collided, the impact leaving 78-year-old 4Runner passenger, Rosemary Zarate, seriously injured. The driver, also age 78 and not publicly identified, had less serious injuries, police say. The Lincoln operator was allegedly uninjured and cited for Failure to Yield Row.
