Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a man at US 79 in Anderson County, TX on August 18th, 2022. Police say the incident happened before 3:10 p.m. Investigators say a bicycle operated by 71-year-old Roy McCarty was involved in a collision with a semi-truck operated by 51-year-old John Looney. Reports say the truck attempted evasive action, veering into a shoulder before the bicycle collided with the front left of the truck. McCarty was taken to an area hospital with injuries he later died from. Looney was not injured. Additional information was not available.
