What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a pedestrian at Yarbrough Dr in El Paso, TX on April 8th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 8:04 p.m. According to investigators a Chevrolet Astro operated by a 42-year-old Miguel Ramos was allegedly in the process of fleeing the scene of a separate accident before it performed a turn in order to headed northbound on Yarbrough. Police say in the process, the vehicle struck 56-year-old Ruben Fernandez as he crossed an intersection, leaving him with injuries believed to be serious in nature. Following this, the vehicle traveled over a median before striking a firetruck. Ramos is also believed to have been seriously injured and officers recommended and/or issued an Intoxication Assault charge.
