What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that injured a driver at FM 1826 in Travis County, TX on September 20th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 12:05 p.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 49-year-old Lockhart man reportedly veered from the road before attempting to correct back onto the roadway and veering into opposite direction traffic. It then collided head-on with a Mazda operated by 69-year-old Ruth Pingali. Pingali was seriously injured in the collision.
