What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at Panda Dr and Saratoga Dr in San Antonio, TX on August 6th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 1:50 a.m. A Honda Accord operated by 21-year-old Ryan Balboa was reportedly traveling at a high rate speed headed northbound in a southbound lane with no active headlights. The vehicle then collided with a parked pickup truck and Balboa, who police say was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered fatal injuries. Responding officers say that an alcoholic beverage was allegedly found on the floor board of the vehicle and suggested it may have played a role in the crash.
