What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials confirmed the death of a person at US Hwy 84 in Coleman County, TX on August 7th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 4:30 a.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Tacoma was headed southbound when it crossed into an oncoming lane for unknown reasons. It then veered from the road and through a culvert before going through a fence and overturning. Two occupants inside were injured, including 18-year-old driver, Ryan Lee Hopkins. Both were taken to an area hospital where Hopkins later died. Additional information was not immediately available.
